Himayat- I-Islam Law College has the singular distinction of being the oldest law school in the private sector in the Punjab; rather in the Country, having been established in 1969 It may proudly claim to be possessed of all the attributes of a progressive institution of law in terms of physical infrastructure of ten air conditioned lecture rooms alongwith one purpose built for law moots , qualified learned, experienced and dedicated faculty, a library furnished with updated Law Reports and Law Journals, both domestic and foreign and an academic ambience motivating the students to imbibe and study the courses prescribed by the University of the Punjab to which it is affiliated, for their acquisition of Bachelor's degree in law

After completing its silver jubilee, the Himayat i Law College, the oldest Law College in Lahore in private sector, has been a role model for emerging law colleges in the community. For tolerance, harmony and peace in society it’s necessary to promote a culture of rule of law. Degree of law is a professional 5-year degree, opening the gates of success to many ventures: becoming lawyers, judges, parliamentarians, civil officers and good businessman, everywhere it helps our graduates.

HILC is a co-ed environment, where a good number of female students are pursuing their law careers, in a serene environment, fearlessly and cheerfully. The College believes in healthy activities and we provide sufficient budget for promotion of sports in students. Our students earned trophies in various inter-collegiate competitions. Likewise, in debates, Qiraat, Naat competitions held from time to time, our students have been winning top positions.
Affairs of the College are run by a high-powered College Committee, comprising former judges of Supreme Court and High Court, Academicians and Administrators, with overall support from Anjuman Himayat I Islam under coveted leadership of Syed Zia Haider Rizvi, the incumbent President. Hon. Mr. Justice Muhammad Nanam uz Zaman is presently serving as the Chairperson of the College Committee, alongwith former District and Sessions Judge, Mr.Fakhar Hayat as Honorary Secretary. The Principal, Javaid Rashid Mahboobi, is a former District Judge having long experience of sharing knowledge and experience with Judges, lawyers and students.
